The Annapurna region is situated in middle north Nepal and is defined by the Kali Gandaki River to the west, the Marsyangdi and Dudh Khola valleys to the east, the Pokhara valley to the south and the Himalaya foothills that run along the Nepal-Tibetan border to the north. The wide variety of flora and fauna, the ever changing views of the mountains and of course the trekker- friendly climate all makes this a truly memorable experience.
STPL offers you 4-days and 8-days trek in the Annapurna Region. In the four days trek, you will trek to Syaglung (3,500 ft), a Gurung village, and is attractive with its white and ochre houses. The mountain views stretch from Dhaulagiri in the west to the Manaslu range in the east. You will also trek to Chisapani. In the 8-days trek, you will trek to Ghorepani, a welcome watering spot for horses, mules, and ponies that carry loads between Pokhara and Jomsom. Early morning excursion to Pun Hill will give you an outstanding panorama of Dhaulagiri, Tukche, Nilgiri, Annapurna I and South, Hiunchuli and Glacier Dome.
Brief Itineraries
Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.
Arrival Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport you will be well received by Sambat Travels Pvt. Ltd.for transfer to your hotels in the hub of Kathmandu city,
Day 2: Drive to Pokhara 860m (220 k.m) -06 hrs.
Starting Ghorepani & Poon Hill trekking with drive on Nepal’s interesting highway to reach Pokhara, journey leads past many farm villages and towns with views of mountains.
Drive finally ends on reaching Pokhara and transfer to hotel near beautiful Phewa Lake where most of the nice hotels are located.
Day 3: Drive to Nayapul (trek point) with 4 hrs trek to Tirkhedhunga 1,440m
After breakfast few hour drive to Nayapul unto Bherethati by the river Modi, from here walk begins through nice villages coming across trekkers, mule and donkey trains, our route leads to farm areas and villages, waterfalls then reaching at Tirkehdhunga for overnight stop in the comfort of a nice cozy lodge after a good day walks of few hours.
Day 4: Trek to Ghorepani 2,850 m – 06 hrs.
Morning starts with steep uphill climb on stone steps for an hour or more to reach on top Ulleri village, moderate size villages with houses in traditional Nepalese style of slated roofs from here walk leads with gradual slow climb into enchanting cool rhododendron and pine forested area to reach at Ghorepani village, located on a ridge surrounded with beautiful rhododendron trees. This village inhabited mostly by Poon people of Magar tribe and famous for Poon Hill view top which is an hour climb.
Day 5: Hike to Poon Hill 3,210 m and trek to Tadapani 2,640m – 05 hrs.
Early morning climb to the top of Poon Hill to catch the stunning sunrise over array of Himalayan peaks from world 7th highest Dhaulagiri-10th highest Annapurna with range of peaks including world 8th highest Manaslu with majestic Machhapuchare peak “Fish Tail”.After enjoying exciting moment head back to Ghorepani and continues trek with uphill and downhill through cool forest then reaching at Tadapani for overnight stop.
Day 6:Trek to Chomrong 1,951m – 06 hours.
From this nice and quiet village, morning walk on downhill into cool forest of rhododendron and pines trees to reach Kimrong valley. After Kimrong valley an uphill climb for an hour to reach on top of Chomrong village, and then short downhill to main Chomrong village for overnight, this is the last permanent Gurung village and the gateway to Annapurna Base Camp and Sanctuary trekking.
Day 7: Trek to Dovan 2,130m via Bamboo 2,050m – 06 hours.
After Chomrong morning walk on short downhill over terraced farm fields and to Chomrong river, after crossing bridge an uphill for an hour to Sinuwa Danda a small place with few lodges offering grand views of surrounding rolling green hills, from here walk into dense forest till Bamboo is reached, located near Modi River.From here an hour walk with gradual up to Dovan for overnight stop, situated in a forested area around Modi River gorge.
Day 8: Trek to Machhapuchare Base Camp 3,720m – 06 hrs.
From here onward air gets cooler towards Annapurna Sanctuary and Base Camp, walk leads on winding path with ups to Himalaya Hotel near large Hinko Cave, beneath Huinchuli peak. From here walk on glacier and moraine around old avalanche area, after crossing a small bridge near Deurali before Machhapuchare Base Camp is reached.After Deurali tree lines disappears with only high alpine bushes and shrubs, our route climbs following Modi river upstream, walk gets pleasant for an hour and with steep up to reach at Machhapuchare Base Camp for overnight.This place with few lodges located on the bottom of Mt. Machhapuchare North Face, from here onward starts Annapurna Sanctuary area.
Day 9: Trek to Annapurna Base Camp 4, 095m – 04 hours.
After a wonderful morning overlooking views of Annapurna mountain range, from here a short walk to the base camp, morning walk on the grassy uphill slopes then reaching higher almost level ground near Annapurna Base Camp, morning walk with stunning views of close Annapurna peaks that circles the sanctuary facing Annapurna I. After a good scenic walk reaching at Annapurna Base Camp a magnificent spot with about three large lodges at present, offering tremendous awesome scenery of snow capped peaks that encircles around this lovely spot at base camp, afternoon at leisure to enjoy the mountain views.Annapurna area was first explored by the British Adventure Col. James O.M. ‘Jimmy’ Roberts in the year 1956 and exposed to the world as the ‘Sanctuary of Gods’. The Sanctuary has been christened as “Annapurna Sanctuary” ever since.
Day 10: Trek to Bamboo 2,050 m – 06 hours.
After a grand time at Annapurna Sanctuary and base camp, morning walk on the downhill path all the way to Deurali, then with few ups and downs with gradual winding trail in the serene forest and back to the tree lines to Bamboo for the overnight stay.
Day 11: Trek to Jhinu danda 1,700m via Chomrong 06 hours.
From here a short steep up to Khuldi Ghar, then on the winding downhill pathThrough the dense forest to Sinuwa danda, from here walk descends to Chomrong khola. After the bridge an uphill walk for less than an hour reaching at Chomrong village for rest stop or lunch, after Chomrong with another up for half hour to the top of Chomrong ridge, then our route descends to Jhinu danda, for overnight stay, this place offers refreshing hot springs just 20 minutes walk downhill near Modi river.
Day 12: Trek to Nayapul and drive to Pokhara. (4 hour trek and one hour drive)
This is the final day of our trekking. We trek to Nayapul from Jhinu Danda and end our trek there. We drive back to Pokhara and explore the beauty of it. You can climb to Sarangkot hill which is famous for adventurous paragliding sport. Explore Pokhara City and overnight stay in a hotel.
Day 13: Drive Back to Kathmandu.
After a marvelous time on high mountains and hills of Annapurna Himal, morning depart from Pokhara after breakfast with overland drive back to Kathmandu.
Day 14: Departure
We will drop you to the International airport to catch your flight back to your home and wish for your Safe journey.
